My favorite time of the year

Okay, as I say so often, it has been forever since I've updated my blog! I took and passed the bar exam . . . which means that I'm officially a lawyer now! Well, I guess I can call myself a lawyer even though I still don't have a job. I hope to get one soon (duh!), but it may take longer than I want! On another note, I did some research on tickets to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver B.C. The premium tickets to the opening cerimony are $1,000 (each)!! Although I probably won't buy those tickets, I think I should start saving up asap. The tickets don't go on sale until October 2008, so I have some time to save. Anyway, that's about it . . . oh, except that my 10 year high school reunion was last Friday. It was actually pretty fun, though there were some people missing who I would have liked to have seen. I also didn't take a single picture . . . I had my camera, but no pictures . . . a total bummer! Well, that's it . . . better get back to the NLDS (go Colorado!). XOXO

Okay, Okay

Okay, since it's been so long, I thought I better update this damn thing.  I'm super busy with the bar prep thing . . . this is a six day week, which totally sucks.  There's no way I'm going to remember this all, but I have to try my best.  Kibbie is naughty, as usualy, and her affinity for dishtowels seems to grow by the day.  Anyway, just thought I'd drop a line to let y'all know that I'm here, if not super busy . . . Woo Hoo!

Well gang, here I am, sitting in Goudy nervously awaiting my final exam.  I wish I could just start it now, but 1:30 will come around soon enough.  I'm rying to divert my mind by thinking about my trip (not that I haven't thought enough about it lately!).  I leave on Thursday and will be gone for two weeks (woo hoo) . . . I arrive just in time for my graduation party.  I can't believe that it's here already . . . not only did I get accepted to law school, but I made it through all three years!  Anyway, I better get going (I want to get a good seat in the exam room).  See you guys later! XOXO, Ella

The end of an era

Well, here I am, sitting in my very last law school class ever.  Well, I still have to take the BarBri classes and pass the Bar (fingers crossed) . . . I'm totally not paying attention, but I don't really care . . . I just want to leave . . . On another note, I did pass the MPRE (whew).  It was super hard and I'm not looking forward to the Bar now, but at least one think is done.  On a completely separate note, I leave for England in fewer than two weeks and I'm so excited!  I do some sort of shopping almost every day . . . today, it's socks and tank tops (I've decided to clean out my old tanks since most of them have holes, torn hems, or huge bleach marks).  Anyway, I should sort of pretend to listen . . . see you guys this weekend for dinner/drinks!  XOXO, Ella

Almost there . . . almost there . . .

Well, I took the MPRE the other week and it was dreadfull!  So many people had told me that it was easy and don't sweat it . . . wrong!  It was so hard and I really did study (at least everyone else that I've talked to thought it was hard too).  At least it's over . . . I also mailed my Bar application this weekend . . . another $500 down the drain, but at least I don't have to worry about it anymore.  I've also gotten my hotel room for the Bar exam and paid for my Bar/Bri class.  I'm totally ready to take the exam now!!  Well, not really, but at least I'm getting really close to the end of school.  I have fewer than three weeks left (with one week for Spring Break in the middle).  But, since I only go M/W/F, I only have 8 days of classes left (oh my God).  I still haven't even touched my Corporate/White Collar Crime paper, but I have all of Spring Break to do it . . . I'm sure that it will eventually get done.  Well, anyway, that's just a little update.  Hope you guys are doing well!

Yet another blogging

Here I am again, blogging during class.  It's a little boring today and I can't think of anything else to shop for.  I found the cutest shoes at Nordies (http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2934955/0~2376778~2372808~6009206?mediumthumbnail=Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6009206&P=1) and the perfect briefcase for my soon-to-be job as a young, fashionable attorney (http://www.coach.com/content/product.aspx?product_no=7535&category_id=811 in the Doe color).  I met with my Professor this morning about my paper for Mass Torts . . . she says that its really good and I'm further along than the other students.  Which means that I'm half-way done (no more Negotiation and nearly finished with Mass Torts)!!  Tomorrow is the MPRE and I've been studying "hard" for it . . . I've done 2 practice exams and I want to do 2 more tonight.  My whole feeling is . . . eh . . . its the MPRE.

The end is in sight . . .

I'm sitting, at the end of the day, in my final Saturday negotiation workshop.  Which means that I only have three negotiation classes left (woo hoo)!!  I had to dress up today, but neither of my suits fit, so I had to buy a new outfit (sort of).  I wore my JCrew pants, as I mentioned before, but bought this super-cute sweater from Ann Taylor Loft . . . it's black with ruffles down the front!!  I wore it over a crisp white button-up and my black pearls . . . very professional!  I'm super tired now, but I still have to write the rest of my Mass Tort paper for Monday!  I think I'm going to try to pull a late night tonight and pound it out, so I can do my reading tomorrow (versus trying to pull an all nighter on Sunday night).  It doesn't have to be the best draft, just a complete one (and since Kate helped me so much on the first half, it shouldn't be too bad).

On another, but related note, I spent 5 hours at Lewis and Clark yesterday for the MPRE review class.  Unfortunately, they had too many people and Marisa and I had to sit on the floor for four hours (we got chairs for the last hour)!  I think I'll be okay next Saturday if I just do the practice tests this week . . . then I can relax until Spring Break when I have to kill myself to write my Corporate White Collar Crime paper.  Anyway, that's what's been going on for the last few days.  A very busy week, with another busy week to come . . . ah, the life of a graduating 3d year law student!

XOXO, Ella
